After making an apprenticeship as carpenters in a journeymen
school, M. René and Rémy COLLADELLO went touring
in France and acquired expertise. After that, Rémy
created his first firm in Lyon in 1956, a firm of traditional
frame. But mister COLLADELLO became aware of the many advantages
of glued laminated timber and decided to make manufacture
and laying of this sort of timber in 1959. In 1960, he was
joined by his brother, René, and they created the COLLADELLO
FRERES company settled in Grésieu-La-Varenne (69) for
more manufacturing. After that, they were joined by their
two other brothers : Henri and Yvan.
In order to have a place more adaptable for transports of
exceptional convoys, the company was transferred to Bourg-de-Péage
(26) in 1979. The firm progressively stopped laying in 1984-1985
in order to make furniture only.
Now, the firm is still directed by mister Rémy COLLADELLO,
seconded by his son Philippe.
